In-Person Training
In some circumstances it is best to be in the room with the people you are teaching, like when you are demonstrating how to use new equipment in a state-of-the-art conference room. While I do not have video of myself while training, I can show you some of the reference material I like to create for in-person sessions.
Quick Reference Guide (QRG)
Having a laminated QRG in the conference room, online to download, or as hand-outs during training lets the learner focus on learning instead of trying to frantically take notes. This is an example of a simple QRG created for a conference room with videoconferencing equipment.
Step-by-Step
Providing the steps of a demonstration lets the learners follow along on their own computer as they learn and can refer to the document during and after the session. This is an example of a step-by-step guide created for a beginning Microsoft Excel class.
Technical Student Guides
For advanced technical content, Student Guides should be provided, especially when the class is to achieve a certification. This is an example of a Student Guide created using Xyleme for the Cisco IX 5000 certification class.
